WHO WE ARE
We are a faith-based private voluntary organization managed by the Franciscan Missionary Sisters for Africa (FMSA). Since 1999, we are helping build safe, resilient, and inclusive communities where all individuals live a life of dignity and purpose regardless of religious background, socioeconomic status, or location.
Our Inspiration
We draw our inspiration from John 10:10 which then enables the communities we are working in to “Go for the goal of life.”
Our Approach
Needs based (or service delivery) approach
We identify gaps in basic services (health, education, water, etc.) and designs projects to fill those gaps which is the starting point for developmental and humanitarian programmes.
Rights based approach
We frame development as the fulfillment of human rights. Our interventions aim to empower people to claim their rights
Participatory approach
We place the affected population at the centre of planning, implementation and monitoring. Techniques such as participatory rural appraisal (PRA), community workshops and co design ensure that programmes reflect local priorities.
Results based management (RBM)
We set clear objectives, defines measurable indicators, and systematically tracks progress to improve decision making and accountability.
Multistakeholder approach
We recognize that poverty and vulnerability are interlinked (e.g., health, education, climate, gender). In our projects we coordinate across sectors to address multiple dimensions simultaneously.
